Nardoo - a water loving plant species, is a member of the Fern Family. Nardoo is native to the inland waterways of Australia. It has been introduced into our Aquaculture Waterbird System. It also grows as a ground plant once water recedes.

The sky is full with Corellas, a small native parrot that gathers on our farm for 3-4 months every year from Febuary to May. Numbers peak at about 1500 birds, usually around Easter time.

One of our students working with Janahn Forest Sheep. Our Permaculture Farm features designated grazing areas and orchard vineyard systems designed to accommodate sheep as non-competitive grazing animals. Sheep are managed according to seasonal conditions. Sheep provide multiple yields of wool, meat, milk and manures collected from containment points.

A view from the Comet Windmill of our evolving Aquaculture Waterbird System. Return overflow of dam-water from the windmills distribution tank is gravity fed to the raised ponds on top of the earthbank on the leftside of the dam where a protected micro-climate garden system is being developed. The dam also features raised beds on its foreshore for the establishment of Orchard Tree Crops. PHOTO BELOW of Raised Ponds

A series of raised ponds on the earth bank of the dam. When surplus water is available overflow from the header tank is gravity fed to these ponds to store as moisture deep in the subsoil profile.

We use and recommend:

Comet Windmills
